Frequently Asked Questions

Location

Kent, WA Easthill neighborhood 15-20 minutes from SeaTac Airport. This is a home based business, which is why the exact location will be provided when you make contact. There is no restroom available.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your guineas cage, and cage accessories, bedding and food

Cage rental could be an option too but I only have 3 extra. The charge is $20 per cage per week and there is no prorating for partial weeks. I have all cage accessories water bottle, food dish, bedding

For the cage rental what material will be used?

I have aspen and newspaper, fluffy paper bedding and newspaper. What will be used will be based on the materials I have at the time. I have moved away from fleece as it is difficult for me to get to the laundromat regularly.

What do you have to feed the guineas?

At all times I have lettuce, carrots, hay, pellets. If you have other things that you would like your piggies to eat then please bring it.

How often do you check water?

Multiple times per day

How often do you check on the guineas?

At least 3x daily if not several times a day. On days that I have to be in the office (10% of the time) I am unable to check during lunch time.

*10% means that on average I am in the office every other week.

When do you feed the guineas?

I feed the guineas mornings and evenings and give snacks throughout the day

Is there climate control for hot or cold days?

Yes, hot days above 80 degrees there is AC and cold days there is a heater. Please understand I cannot leave the AC on at night due to it being a window AC on the ground floor.

Where will the guineas be staying?

My second living room. The guinea pig cages are put on 6'X2' tables (Garage sale style tables).

How often do you clean the piggies?

Fleece/material: daily poo pickup, full change after 3-4 days

Playchips/paper: full change after 5 days. This is a rare scenario but if its looking not messy like your guinea pig is potty trained and only goes bathroom in 1 area then sometimes I will let it go 7 days

How much experience do you have with guinea pigs?

I have owned guinea pigs over the last 25 years and have been sitting guinea pigs since 2021.

What is the booking process?

You fill out this form and then I contact you with a price. If you agree on the price then I write you in my calendar and provide you with the exact address.

What is the cost?

I like to keep things simple

$20 per day per guinea pig

$20 per cage rental per cage per week (no prorating for partial weeks) i.e. if the stay is 1 day and you are renting a cage the cage charge is $20. I have 3 extra cages so at times this option may not always be available.

*this simple pricing does not cover all scenarios but I do my best to stick to it. If you wonder why something is priced the way it is then feel free to ask

When do I pay?

Payment is up front i.e. at the start of the stay

How do I pay?

Cash is preferred

Check is offered for returning customers

Venmo is an option but there is a fee of 6%. Venmo automatically charges you (the customer) 3% and there is a business fee on my end of 3%.

Tipping is appreciated but not expected

Other notes:

Please do your best to stick to your drop off and pickup time. Both my husband and I plan our full time job, errands, chores, extracurricular activities and family time around the time you pick.
